The Pennsylvania Soup & Seafood House, a beloved staple in downtown Doylestown, has permanently closed after 17 years of operation, writes Michele Haddon for the Bucks County Courier Times.

Announced via a heartfelt Facebook post by co-owners Keith Blalock and Chad Riedley, the restaurant shuttered on May 6, 2024, citing economic challenges including high staffing costs and the inability to sell alcohol as key factors in their decision.

The duo, who launched the eatery in 2007, expressed deep gratitude to their patrons, “We are immensely grateful for the opportunity to have served the Doylestown community and to have been a part of your lives.”

Despite the closure, their culinary journey is far from over. Blalock and Riedley, who also own the nearby Penn Taproom, hinted at plans to open a new, larger restaurant in Doylestown Township which promises to continue offering their famous homemade soups among other new additions.

Meanwhile, the Penn Taproom remains open, where customers can redeem any Soup & Seafood gift cards and also request catering services.
