The Coves Park in Bensalem is getting a new playground, with the work to install it already underway, writes Damon C. Williams for the Bucks County Courier Times.
The project is the first of several similar initiatives that will be undertaken by the Bensalem Township Parks and Recreation Department.
Due to the installation, the playground area has been temporarily closed.
“The Coves playground is being updated to a more modern play area,” said Kyle Pennypacker, director of Bensalem’s parks and recreation department.
“This is the first of many upgrades we are making to our neighborhood playgrounds. Two other units will be replaced this year, with a plan to replace many more over the next five years.”
Once completed, the new playground will have play areas for a range of ages. This will include multiple climbing ropes/ladders, two levels of slides, multi-level platforms, two baby swings, three regular swings, and a multi-age accessible swing chair.
While there is no set date for when the works will be completed, Pennypacker said typical playground installations usually do not take long.
“We are talking weeks, not months,” she added.
