Quinta Brunson will be lending her voice in the new animated version of "Cat in the Hat" in 2026.

A new animated version of Dr. Seuss’ “The Cat in the Hat” is scheduled to be released in a couple years and West Philadelphia’s own Quinta Brunson will be part of the cast, writes Franki Rudnesky for PhillyVoice.

While Brunson’s role has yet to be specified, the animated film is set to premiere in theaters on March 6, 2026.

Leading the cast is Bill Hader. Other voice actors in the film include Bowen Yang, Xochitl Gomez, Matt Berry, and Paula Pell.

“We are excited to see such an exceptional group of talent join the effort to bring this iconic property to the screen as an animated feature,” said Susan Brandt, president and CEO of Dr. Seuss Enterprises.

This new version of “The Cat in the Hat” will reportedly be the debut feature as part of a slate of animated projects that Warner Bros. Pictures Animation is developing with Dr. Seuss Enterprises.

Brunson recently earned her second Emmy Award for “Abbott Elementary,” when she was awarded Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series.

In May, Temple University — where Brunson attended for a year — will honor her with the Lew Klein Excellence in Media Award, and an honorary degree. Brunson will also address this year’s graduating class during the school’s commencement.
