Philadelphia Eagles general manager Howie Roseman hopes the picks made during this year's draft put a smile on his face for years to come.

As the Philadelphia Eagles prepare to select its newest group of players as part of the NFL Draft, general manager Howie Roseman has a clear vision, writes Dan Gelston at The Washington Post.

Whether it’s the recently-retired Jason Kelce and Fletcher Cox or the newly-extended or re-signed DeVonta Smith, Landon Dickerson, and Brandon Graham, a lesson can be taken from each group.

“It’s a great success story for us to be able to draft guys and sign them to extensions,” Roseman said. “I think it’s a great message to our team that if you come here and do the right thing, you don’t have to leave.”

Both Kelce and Cox managed to spend their entire decade-plus career with the Eagles franchise.

That legacy is a big part of the Eagles culture, and something Roseman wants to strengthen as the team prepares for the draft.

As it currently stands, the Eagles hold the 22nd pick in the first round, and the 50th and 53rd overall picks in the second round, along with five other draft picks.

Among the team’s needs are offensive line depth, a No. 3 receiver to complement Smith and A.J. Brown, and another tight end behind Dallas Goedert
