Bristol’s century-old Randall Avenue bridge will be getting an injection of millions of dollars in state funding for renovations.

Bristol’s century-old Randall Avenue bridge will be getting an injection of state funding for renovations, writes John McDevitt for KYW Newsradio.

The $2 million is from the Multimodal Transportation Fund secured by state officials. The bridge shut down in February of 2023 due to safety concerns after pieces were falling onto Amtrak’s Northeast Corridor tracks.

The long-term goal of federal officials is to rebuild and replace the bridge completely. For now, renovations are a priority so the neighborhood on the other side of the tracks can be more connected to other parts of the county.

To rebuild the Bristol bridge, the township is seeking an additional $25 million.
