Cookies, cakes, pastries, and more are the subject of some of the best bakeries in Pennsylvania. The Keystone compiled a list of the 13 best in the state and one Chester County bakery is among them.

While also naming the best on the list, there are also recommendations of what to order and Yelp reviewers who write what they love about the bakery.

At No. 3 on the list is Butterscotch Pastry Shop in Birchrunville.

The shop specializes in desserts and pastries made in-house daily such as pecan sticky buns, croissants, carrot cake, and apple turnover. One menu recommendation is the almond croissant.

Yelp reviewer Allison B. writes, “This place is magic! The setting is sweet; it’s my happy place. The pastries are not too sweet. They remind me of the pastries in France with focus on artistry, craft, and flavor vs inundation of sugar. The flour used is high quality. The staff is incredible, kind, patient, and accommodating.”
