Amid the Academy Awards, Bucks County Community College staff and students recently celebrated their own Oscar tradition.

As the nation tuned in to the Academy Awards this past Sunday, Bucks County Community College staff and students had recently celebrated their own Oscar tradition, reports Todd Haas for 6 ABC.

Following the previous year’s success, the college celebrated the annual Movie Awards Party on the Newtown campus.

The party included an abundance of activities such as trivia, VR, taking selfies with props, filling out writing prompts and then entering into raffles.

“I’m really happy at how collaborative everybody has been in making this happen,” said organizer Kelley Deeny.

“I didn’t have a class here today, but I know I still had to come to it,” said Amanda Stone, a student at Bucks County Community College.

Deeny proposed the idea last year and has since seen how much its success has grown.
