The Uhlerstown–Frenchtown Toll-Supported Bridge is getting a makeover in 2025, writes Mike Deak for My Central Jersey.

An engineering consulting firm from Exton will oversee the design to rehabilitate the 92-year-old bridge.

The project is intended to keep the bridge, which stands over the Delaware River, in good condition for another 15 years and to extend its life service.

It will involve fixing the bridge’s steel superstructure, cleaning and repainting it, repairing its abutments, piers, and retaining walls, and installing an LED lighting system.

The design process is expected to be complete by this fall and the rehabilitation is slated to begin in early 2025 with a completion date projected by the end of 2025.

The Delaware River Joint Toll Bridge Commission will likely host public forums in both Uhlerstown and Frenchtown during the later stages of the design process.
