Doylestown resident Richard Murray-Dey, who works as a SEPTA conductor, was working on December 31 when he noticed a wallet somebody had lost, writes Dawn Timmeney for Fox 29 Philadelphia.

Murray-Dey opened it and found that the owner was Radnor Township resident Greg Basile.

The conductor, whose birthday is on New Year’s Eve, then drove almost an hour to deliver the lost item.

“I called my wife and we decided immediately that I would drive and take that wallet back to him, but try to do it anonymously, so I’m not infringing on his privacy,” he said. “What he had in there, I knew he would really need it and I wasn’t looking for anything in return.”

After finding the wallet Murray-Dey left at his home, Basil checked his Ring camera to see who the good Samaritan was. He tried to locate him, and with help from local media, the two got in contact and agreed to meet.

The pair hugged as soon as they saw each other and instantly got on.

“I think he’s a great guy and we’re gonna keep up this friendship,” said Basile.
