Kay Kay's is a South Philadelphia bakery that has perfected the new viral burn away cake trend.

Kaylyn Kahana, owner of Kay Kay’s bakery in South Philadelphia, was happy to share the magic behind the viral burnaway cake trend, report Alex Holley and Mike Jerrick for FOX 29.

In the videos popping all over the internet, people take a lighter and light the top of a cake on fire. Then the top layer disintegrates and reveals another picture.

Kahana is one of the people who have been going viral on social media with her cake “magic.”

“We actually posted a Jason Kelce burnaway cake from the scene in Buffalo,” said Kahana. “Shirtless, celebrating the touchdown, with a slogan ‘There’s only one Kelce I’m watching the Super Bowl for.’”

The top layer of a burnaway cake is a thin wafer paper.

“Just like a thin sugar paper,” said Kahana.

The second layer does not melt off, and has another picture or text on a thicker sugar paper.

The cakes are used for various occasions, from romantic notes for Valentine’s Day to gender reveal to a pregnancy announcement and much more.
