A land conservation non-profit has successfully preserved the 29-acre Handschin property in East Rockhill Township.

A land conservation non-profit has successfully preserved the 29-acre Handschin property in East Rockhill Township, according to WeConservePA.  

This land, alongside another parcel, will soon provide public recreational opportunities such as hiking, bird watching, and hunting.  

The Handschin property is crucial for the Perkasie area’s water supply, safeguarding the aquifer that supports around 13,000 customers.  

The conservation of these lands is celebrated by former owner Chris Handschin and underscores the importance of protecting natural habitats in developed areas.  

The initiative, supported by various organizations and funding sources, including the PA Department of Conservation and Natural Resources and the Open Space Institute, emphasizes the collective effort to preserve Pennsylvania’s green spaces for wildlife and public enjoyment.
