Freedom Village at Brandywine has donated $10,000 to the East Brandywine Fire Company (EBFC) during its annual officer installation ceremony. This significant contribution highlights Freedom Village’s commitment to actively supporting the local community.

The EBFC plays a vital role in the community, providing essential services such as responding to fire alarms and offering emergency first responders for medical emergencies.

Prior to the COVID-19 pandemic, their help with lift assistance and gathering crucial medical information for EMTs proved invaluable.

Additionally, the EBFC has conducted informative presentations and question-answer sessions on fire safety in community living, as well as organized fire drills and evacuation exercises in the Independent Living area, ensuring the well-being of all residents.

Furthermore, the EBFC has been instrumental in advising Freedom Village on equipment purchases, process improvements, and emergency planning.

At the annual officer installation ceremony, Freedom Village’s executive director attended and delivered a heartfelt speech, expressing the community’s gratitude for the EBFC’s unwavering support. Several residents also joined the ceremony, showcasing their appreciation for the fire company’s commitment to their well-being.

“Freedom Village at Brandywine is proud to support its local community, especially organizations like East Brandywine Fire Company who continuously put the safety and lives of others before themselves,” said Freedom Village at Brandywine Executive Director Danielle Geyer. “By contributing $10,000 to the fire company, we hope to further enhance its ability to serve and protect our community.
