Freedom Village at Brandywine, a senior living community, dedicated the month of December to giving back to the local community.

Through various initiatives, the residents and associates of Freedom Village demonstrated their commitment to helping those in need.

Throughout the month, Freedom Village organized food and clothing drives to support the Chester County Food Bank and the Salvation Army in Coatesville, respectively.

The response from the community was overwhelming, with generous donations pouring in. In total, over 445 pounds of food and clothing were collected, providing essential resources to those facing hardship.

In addition to these collective efforts, Freedom Village made a special contribution to Reeceville Elementary School. The community donated over $350 worth of toys and presents, spreading joy and holiday cheer to the young students.

Associates at Freedom Village also had the opportunity to contribute by participating in a unique initiative. In exchange for donating a food or clothing item, associates had the chance to wear jeans on Fridays throughout December. This initiative not only encouraged donations but also fostered a sense of camaraderie among the staff.

“We are thrilled to have been able to make a positive impact in our community during the holiday season,” said Danielle Geyer, executive director of Freedom Village at Brandywine. “The outpouring of support from our residents and associates truly exemplifies the spirit of giving.”

The donations made by Freedom Village at Brandywine will undoubtedly make a significant difference in the lives of many individuals and families. The Chester County Food Bank and the Salvation Army in Coatesville will be able to provide much-needed assistance to those struggling with food insecurity and other challenges. The contributions to Reeceville Elementary School will bring smiles to the faces of countless children.
