Newtown’s Elen Snyder in the Spotlight for Prestigious 2024 City & State PA Women Awards
Newtown Township Supervisor Elen Snyder is one of the nominees for the prestigious 2024 City & State PA Above & Beyond: Women Awards, writes John Mack for the Patch.
Each year, CSPA honors Pennsylvania women who go above and beyond in their jobs to serve their communities and lead the way in business, politics, nonprofits, and more.
Snyder was nominated by Newtown Supervisor John Mack, who highlighted her leading role in the approval of a Women’s Reproductive Rights Resolution by Newtown Township’s Board of Supervisors, along with her contribution to implementing the Single-Use Plastics Ban.
Prior to becoming a Newtown Township Supervisor, Snyder was instrumental in saving the open grassy area of Roberts Ridge Park from becoming a “meadow” of high grasses as part of the plan to reduce sediment flowing into Neshaminy Creek.
In her role as a supervisor, she has advocated for solar energy and worked with the Joint Zoning Council to pass an ordinance that supports the use of electric car charging stations.
“I hope you agree that Elen is a unique asset as a Newtown Supervisor and that you will nominate her for this award,” wrote Mack.
