Girl Scout cookies season is upon us, and despite the inclement weather, troops across Bucks County are setting up shop outside of various grocery stores and restaurants to sell our favorite treats, writes Peg Quann for the Bucks County Courier Times.

Michele Thompson, the Bensalem Service Manager for the Girl Scouts of Eastern Pennsylvania says that while winter weather might drive up sales, safety is the priority.

“…the girls do better outside because we get sympathy. Obviously if it’s dangerous, we’ll cancel.” she said, assuring that the girls always bundle up to keep warm.

Key places for the next eight weeks will include booths outside of the Doylestown Bookshop, Redner’s in Langhorne, Sauce in Yardley, along with various Acmes, shopping centers, and other businesses across the county.

The money from cookie sales helps the GSEP with maintaining their properties, providing financial aid, and keeping camps affordable.

This year, there will be nine available flavors including Thin Mints and shortbread Trefoils, and two new-ish flavors including Toast-Yay and gluten-free Caramel Chocolate Chip.
