Bucks County Tourism Grant Program Chooses Friends of Washington Crossing as Its Annual Stand-Out
In its latest round of grant allocations, the Bucks County Tourism Grant Program has chosen Friends of Washington Crossing as its annual stand-out, writes Greg Vellner for The Reporter.
The non-profit organization at Washington Crossing Historic Park on River Road received the Charles H. Martin grant, which recognizes one recipient each year by name.
This year, a total of $574,650 was distributed to 56 Bucks County organizations. Overall, since the program’s inception in 2008, over $6.7 million has been given to 130 organizations to develop and enhance the tourism industry in the county.
The grant funds projects and programs that include special events, exhibitions, product development, capital improvements, and marketing. The grants are funded in part through Bucks County’s lodging tax.
In addition to Friends of Washington Crossing, this year’s recipients include the African American Museum of Bucks County, Friends of Bolton Mansion, Northampton County Historical and Genealogical Society, Snipes Farm and Education Center, and The Andalusia Foundation.
