Frank Sciolla, a legend in the Bucks County basketball community, added another milestone to his already impressive record last week by winning his 500th career game, writes Melissa Hanejko for the Bucks County Courier Times.

Sciolla, who has been coaching for 28 years, is believed to be only the third head coach in Bucks County to achieve such a milestone.

Before taking over the Pennsbury High School girls team eight years ago, Sciolla coached Bristol, Conwell-Egan, and Pennsbury boys basketball.

Since then, he has led the Falcons to an amazing record of 135-61.

The 500th win for the coach came in front of the Falcons’ devoted home crowd but it was not without some tense moments. Pennsbury trailed Central Bucks South 29-25 at the start of the fourth quarter.

However, the Falcons rallied for a dominant final period and a final winning score of 43-33.

The most dominant player was Layla Matthias, with 14 offensive rebounds as well as three on the defensive end.
