Fire and Frost Festival has returned to Peddler’s Village with its many amazing ice sculptures and fascinating fire-spinning performances, writes Bryanna Gallagher for 6 ABC.

The popular festival made its 2024 debut fittingly on a very cold night.

In the village, the cobblestones are already lined with dozens of ice sculptures. Many families showed up on the opening evening to take photos with the sculptures and watch live carving demonstrations.

In addition to being awed by the transformation of blocks of ice into recognizable characters, the visitors were also impressed by the fire performers – especially when they started walking a tightrope while holding fire.

“This is my first time,” said Alicia Talia, a fire spinner with the Philadelphia Circus School. “I’ve been to Peddler’s Village as a kid so it’s cool to be here as an adult performing.”
