Bucks County Controller Pamela Van Blunk is urging residents and local organizations to explore a unique opportunity: retrieving unclaimed funds, according to TAPIntoDoylestown.

The controller’s office has established an Unclaimed Funds Program to assist individuals and entities in claiming funds that have remained uncollected, often due to postal issues like undeliverable checks or expired forwarding addresses.

The initiative, which has been active for approximately a year, has already seen significant success. To date, over $427,000 has been returned to rightful owners. However, the online database reveals that there’s still more than $700,000 waiting to be claimed, with some of these unclaimed funds dating back to 2008.

The unclaimed amounts are owed to a diverse group, including individuals, businesses, and local government entities.

For those who suspect they might have unclaimed funds, the process to claim them is straightforward. Eligible recipients are required to submit an application along with necessary documentation through mail. Once the claims are verified and processed, which typically takes four to six weeks, the funds are disbursed to the rightful owners.

Residents and organizations are encouraged to visit the unclaimed funds web page and click on the “Unclaimed Funds Listing” link to search for any funds they might be owed.
