Meet Taylor Swift’s Dad, Bryn Mawr Native Scott Swift
Scott Swift, a Bryn Mawr native, is the father of superstar Taylor Swift who has been a constant support to his daughter throughout her entire career, writes Emily Hodgkin for the Daily Express US.
The 71-year-old Swift worked as a stockbroker and financial advisor for The Swift Group under Merrill Lynch. He and his wife, Andrea, raised their daughter and son, Austin, on a 15-acre Christmas tree farm in Wyomissing.
The family moved to Hendersonville, Tennessee, in 2003 to bring Taylor closer to Nashville, the heart of country music. At the time, she wanted to become a country music star and her dad always supported her dreams.
When she won a Grammy in 2008, Swift dedicated it to her father.
“This is for all those times that you said I could do whatever I wanted in life,” she said in her speech.
Today, the elder Swift seems to also be a big supporter of his daughter’s boyfriend, Kansas City Chiefs Travis Kelce, and has been to several of his games with his daughter.
