Linda Fox, a seventy-four-year-old Yardley grandmother, is not shy about sharing her devotion to Reading native Taylor Swift – but not with the people her age, writes Angela Barbuti for The New York Post.

“I don’t really talk to my friends about it,” she said. “I’m trying to stay younger. I just hang out with the teenage girls. They call me ‘Swiftie mom.’”

Fox became a Swiftie because of her granddaughter, Phoenixx Brito. The 16-year-old’s house burned down on last year’s Christmas night, so she moved in with Fox. The grandmother tried to make new Swift memories for her as everything she had owned was destroyed.

“Everything that we bought her for Christmas, the albums, the sweatshirts were still under the tree,” said Fox. “She was so heartbroken. So I went out and got a little record player.”

They started listening to Swift’s music together, and Fox realized she enjoyed it too. Her granddaughter even got to see her in concert, though the ticket was too expensive for Fox to attend.

She did later take her granddaughter to see Swift’s concert movie, “Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour“- and made a special cowboy hat for the occasion.
