Jason Campbell was more than happy as a Central Bucks South basketball coach until his son became a freshman at Upper Moreland in 2021-22 and he had to miss most of his games due to a clash in schedules, writes Tom Moore for Bucks County Courier Times.

Campbell was determined to not let the same thing happen again, so he resigned his position in 2022 after 18 seasons and a total of 225 wins. He was then offered a job by Upper Moreland head coach Dan Heiland as an assistant on his staff. Campbell gladly accepted the chance to coach his son.

“I’m grateful,” said Campbell, who still teaches business education at Central Bucks South. “I’m loving it. It’s been fantastic. It’s a unique opportunity and a privilege.”

In their first season together as a father/son and coach/player duo, his son Colson managed to earn second-team All-Suburban One League Freedom Division honors. Currently he is enjoying a solid junior campaign for the Golden Bears.

“Jason and Colson have a great dynamic on and off the floor,” said Heiland.
