As the weather gets chilly, ice skating season is upon us, with many rinks in the region opening up in Bucks County and beyond.

But if you prefer skating on an actual body of water, then you are in luck, since Bucks County has the perfect spot for it.

Ice skating is permitted at Neshaminy Creek in Tyler State Park in Newtown when the weather is right.

Ice skaters can skate on the creek near the boathouse warming area. Since ice thickness is not monitored, this spot may be of interest to more seasoned skaters.

If you prefer skating in an ice rink, there are several great spots in the region to try out. These include Flight on Ice in Newtown Square, Philadelphia Skating Club and Humane Society in Ardmore, and Tinseltown in South Philly.
