Wrightstown-based UrbanPonics is a nonprofit that focuses on year-round agriculture, education on vertical farming, and promoting environmentally stable techniques, writes Raeanne Raccagno for the Bucks County Herald.

It’s led by seven individuals with a joint passion for promoting the benefits of hydroponics and aquaponics.

People are encouraged to use the space they already have, like their basements.

Based on a household’s grocery list, the nonprofit can “figure out what system would allow you to grow it in your room and build a food closet,” said Webb Stone, the founder of UrbanPonics.
