The Warrington Wawa will be pumping the brakes on operations, but only to make room for a larger space, writes Michele Haddon.

The Philly-area favorite convenience store chain on 550 Easton Road will be starting demolition in the next three months.

It will instead be expanded to a 5,585 hundred square-foot space with six gas pumps. Beer will not be sold at this location.

The building will share a parking space with a sports bar, Chickie & Pete’s, which will also see enhancements, including lot line adjustments and an outdoor dining area.

The store is expected to close by the end of the year, and the demolition and construction phase of the Warrington Wawa will take eight to nine months.

To make the store more accessible, the addition of two left-turn lanes at Easton and Street Roads and a right-turn lane on Maple Avenue at Street Road is expected.
