The youth of Newtown Quaker Meeting recently hosted a charitable Simple Supper, successfully gathering $2,008 in donations for the Penndel Food Pantry, part of the Bucks County Housing Group, according to The Reporter.

This event is a part of their ongoing commitment to charity, where they have impressively raised over $41,000 in the past thirteen years through annual Simple Suppers and Lasagna Dinners.

During their Meeting for Business, the children, inspired by Jack Ciccimaro’s experience with his Boy Scout troop at the Penndel Food Bank, unanimously decided to support local food scarcity issues.

The Simple Supper was a culinary delight, featuring nineteen soups and eleven desserts, ranging from West African Peanut Soup to Ube Cupcakes, all prepared and served by the children and teens.

The Newtown Quaker youth have a history of supporting various causes, including disaster relief, refugee aid, youth homelessness, international education, and more.

Newtown Friends Meeting, established in 1815 by Edward Hicks, holds regular services and is open to the public.
