The meeting house has served as an important historical spot for centuries.

One of the most historic homes in Bucks County has a long and storied history with one of the area’s most well-known religious groups.

The Buckingham Friends Meeting House, located at 5684 York Road in Lahaska, has served as one of the main meeting areas for practitioners and believers in the Quaker faith for nearly 300 years.

Originally built in 1768, the current building is the fourth one on the land; the first house was built between 1705 and 1708 by English Quakers, some of the earliest settlers to the southern portion of Bucks County.

Since the fourth building’s establishment, the building has served as a “meeting house”, a church-like building used by the Quakers to worship and meet to discuss important beliefs on fraternity and helping others.

Being that the Quakers have played a major role in the founding of Pennsylvania and the establishment of Bucks County, this property serves as a living reminder of their impact and current place in the area.
