Bucks County Among Top 5 with Most Bridges in Pennsylvania

Bridges are exciting and important pieces of infrastructure that bring together otherwise distant places, and all of the Philadelphia collar counties, including Bucks County, have an abundance of bridges, according to a recently released report by Stacker.

Montgomery, Chester, Bucks, and Delaware counties are all in the top 25 counties with the most bridges in Pennsylvania.

Montgomery County ranked highest in second place. The county boasts 778 bridges, which is 3.4 percent of bridges in the state. The percentage of its bridges that are rated as being in poor condition is 15.3 percent.

Next is Chester County in fourth place with 682 bridges or three percent of the state’s total. Its share of bridges in poor condition is 16 percent.

Bucks County is close behind in fifth place. The county’s 675 bridges make up 2.9 percent of Pennsylvania’s total, with 20.3 percent of them being in poor condition.

Finally, Delaware County ranked at No. 22 with 383 bridges which represent 1.7 percent of bridges in the state. However, Delaware has the lowest share of bridges in poor condition at 14.4 percent.
