Bensalem High School Mock Trial Team Heads to Yale, Wins Several Awards, Accolades
The Bensalem High School Mock Trial Team recently traveled to Yale University to compete with other schools from around the country.
Over the weekend, the team made their way to the Ivy League school in New Haven, Connecticut to take part in the Bulldog Invitational.
During and after the mock trials, several Bensalem students walked away with awards and recognitions.
David Diabene, a senior, won an overall award for Best Witness. Nand Patel, a sophomore, received recognition for Best Witness in 2 different trials.
Juniors Rishi Jani, Kailey Roberts, and Chudier Nyak took top rankings as Best Attorney in their individual trials.
“Congratulations to all!” the school district said online.
Back in January, the team competed against Holy Ghost Prep’s team in a faux trial. Participants engaged in a mock legal proceeding in order to show their knowledge of how cases such as these go in real life.
Ultimately, Bensalem walked away victorious at that event, with a panel of judges finding them to have gone about the event with the most authentic acting and knowledge of the legal process.
