The report shows that the 55-year-old Brian Filippini, who owned the plane, was the pilot at the time of the crash.

A new report from the National Transportation Safety Board has revealed the cause of a deadly plane crash that happened in Chalfont last year, according to a staff report from WFMZ 69 News.

The crash that killed two people happened on Feb. 24, 2022, at 4:56 PM near the intersection of Brittany and Victoria Lanes in Hilltown Township. The victims were Brian Filippini, of Philadelphia, and Alfred Piranian, of Chalfont.

The report states that the crash was caused by the “pilots’ exceedance of the airplane’s critical angle of attack while practicing maneuvers during an instructional flight, which resulted in an aerodynamic stall and a loss of airplane control.”

However even though the plane crashed on a residential street, no homes were damaged.

The report shows that the 55-year-old Filippini, who owned the plane, was the pilot at the time of the crash. Filippini had logged a total of 733 hours of flying.

The 74-year-old Piranian, who was a flight instructor with over 11,000 hours of total flying experience, had suffered a heart attack around three weeks prior to the crash.

Both Filippini and Piranian died of blunt-force injuries.
