Walter's Nursery has been a family-run business in Bucks County for close to a century.

Walter’s Nursery, located at 152 River Road in Point Pleasant, has been creating designer gardens and landscaping masterpieces for close to a century.

In 1930, John Willis Walter, Jr., the founder of the business, graduated from North Carolina State University with a degree in forestry. He opened the nursery that same year, starting with a few tree and shrub seedlings he began to grow while still a student.

93 years later, the business is still owned by the Walters, a family who has resided in Bucks County since the 18th century.

Walter passed the business on to his two sons, John J. and Craig, who later passed it on to John J.’s sons Jim and Buck, along with Craig’s son Joey. Craig’s wife, Dot, became the business’ lead designer.

The business, which operates in the areas of Bucks and Hunterdon Counties, offers services in garden design, garden and estate maintenance, stonework, and nursery work.

“With four generations of knowledge and experience, our designers and craftsmen can create, install and maintain the property of your dreams!” the business’ website reads.
