Authorities rescued a bald eagle after it was found injured in Bucks County, and a local group is now taking care of the animal.

Members of the Bensalem Police Department found the bird injured near a Bensalem apartment complex last week. The Bensalem Township Police Animal Control Officer responded to the report and went to check on the animal.

After capturing the bird, the officer had it transported to the Aark Wildlife Rehabilitation and Education Center, located at 1531 Upper Stump Road in Chalfont.

“Bensalem Police would like to thank the residents who contacted us and for the hard work and dedication of organizations like The Aark who care for injured and sick wildlife,” the police department said online.

Back in May, police in Solebury Township helped rescue another bald eagle, which found itself injured in the Chalfont area.

The rehabilitation center works to “rehabilitate and release orphaned and injured native wildlife and promote harmony between humans and their wild neighbors through quality environmental education.”
