Young Bald Eagle Spotted in Northern Bucks County. Read to Learn Where

The bird was seen in the northernmost part of Bucks County.

As residents of Bucks County gear up to celebrate the Fourth of July, the country’s national bird was seen in a nearby park.

A young bald eagle was seen perched on a tree branch in Riegelsville near Fry’s Run County Park, which is just outside of the Bucks County area. Riegelsville is the northernmost point of the county.

The Friends of the Delaware Canal shared the picture online and described the bird as a regular visitor to the area.

“Apparently, this tree is its favorite spot to perch,” the organization said.

Once on the brink of extinction, the bald eagle is again becoming a familiar sight to anglers and recreational users throughout the Delaware River Watershed. In neighboring New Jersey, the bird was reduced to a single breeding pair in 1970. Today, there are 267 pairs, and their numbers keep growing.

Just recently, police in Solebury Township helped rescue an injured bald eagle found in the Chalfont area. The bird was later transported to the Aark Wildlife Rehabilitation Center for treatment.
