A farm in Bucks County is continuing a food program to help those in the area and offer students an engaging activity to do.

The Carversville Farm Foundation, located at 6127 Mechanicsville Road in Mechanicsville, has begun their Philabundance Community Kitchen program. The annual event helps students from around the area learn more about food and agriculture while helping to get it ready for those facing food insecurity.

“This great program provides culinary-jobs training and a fresh start, as students gain food-service career skills while preparing nourishing meals for people in need. It’s always a pleasure to welcome these terrific cohorts to for a field day to learn how we grow top-quality organic food, all to give away,” the farm said online.

The farm donates all of the high-quality produce it harvests to organizations that feed people in poverty. In fact, it is most likely the only large farm in the region that exists exclusively to produce food for those in need.
