The park will host several events to commemorate the holiday.

The public is invited to spend the extended Independence Day weekend at Washington Crossing Historic Park, located at the intersection of Routes 32 and 532 in Bucks County.

The schedule of events includes:

July 1

During the park’s annual Colonial Field Day, families or friend groups can compete in spirited competition while playing popular games from the 18th century, including cup and ball, Jacob’s Ladder, hoop and stick, and more. The competition begins at either 10 AM – 1 PM and lasts an hour and a half.

July 2

Car lovers can attend the 5th annual “Rebels & Redcoats Classic Car Show” on this day from 10 AM – 2 PM. In keeping with the park’s revolutionary history, this show will feature only classic American, French, British and German cars, representing the four major countries involved in the Revolutionary War.

July 4

Step back in time to July 4, 1776. During this special living-history event, visitors can explore a military encampment and watch Colonial townspeople demonstrate and sell their crafts from noon to 4 PM. A highlight of the day will be readings of the Declaration of Independence at 12:30, 1:30, 2:30 and 3:30 PM.

At 2:45 PM in the visitor center auditorium, historical interpreter David Price will give a short talk about “The Battle of Assunpink Creek: The Most Pivotal Moment of the Revolutionary Ware?”

Price is the author of a trilogy of books about the Ten Crucial Days of the Revolution. He will be available to sign copies of his books, which are sold in the park’s gift shop.
