Tour Discussing Unique Structures on Delaware Canal Towpath Rescheduled to Later Date
A tour that was set to be held just outside of Bucks County has been rescheduled, but organizers still plan on showcasing the area’s unique bridges.
The Friends of the Delaware Canal, a group that oversees events at and protects the eponymous trail, has rescheduled the Camelback Bridge Walk, which was originally set to be held on June 24 from 10 AM – 12 PM in Raubsville, just north of Bucks County in the area of Easton. Officials from the group said that inclement weather will not allow the event to be held this weekend.
The event will now take place on July 1. The 4-mile walk will begin at the Theodore Roosevelt Recreation Area.
“We will then venture north to Woody’s Camelback Bridge, the fifth of the six authentic camelback bridges to be restored in 2017 by the friends with the help of many generous donors,” event organizers said online.
The Camelback bridges can be found along the towpath at various points, giving local travelers an opportunity to cross the water and make it to their homes or onto another trail.
