A senator from Bucks County has secured a large amount of funds to help the community combat major issues affecting countless residents. Staff writers at MyChesCo wrote about the funds.

Senator Steve Santarsiero has announced $616,000 in state funds being awarded by the Pennsylvania Commission on Crime and Delinquency. The use of these funds will be to combat substance use and reduce incarceration in the area.

The Child and Family Focus, Inc will receive $200,000, the Council of Southeast Pennsylvania will receive $200,000, and the Bucks County Restrictive Probation Program will receive $216,000. The funding is coming from the Intermediate Punishment Treatment Program and will support the county’s Restrictive Probation Program.

“The opioid epidemic touches every corner of our community, and we must do more to help those who are suffering from substance use disorders,” Santarsiero said.

“These organizations do great work treating those in need in our community and I am pleased these state funds are supporting programs to benefit our residents in Bucks County.”
