The business will close at the end of the month.

Gourmand Epicerie, a gourmet cheese shop in Frenchtown, is closing its doors for good next month after the business deal with a potential buyer fell through, writes Valerie Musson for the Daily Voice Warren Hunterdon.

The shop, which is just over the river from Bucks County in New Jersey, made the announcement on social media on June 26. In this it also stated that the store will be shuttered on July 30 after nine years of serving the community.

The owners said that in addition to the failed purchase deal, the shop’s lease will not be renewed, which had finally cemented their difficult decision to have to close.

As “a show of thank you” for their loyal customer, all the merchandise in the shop will be offered at half-price until the store closes next month.

“We of course are heartbroken, but it is time for us to move on from the community and the store to have its final chapter,” states the post. “We have loved being part of the community and you being a part of our lives!”
