Two students from Bucks County have been nominated for a major acting award, showcasing their talents on the stage.

Anna Shea Safran and Jackson Manning, both students at Central Bucks High School West in Doylestown, will represent Philadelphia as the female and male nominees of the National High School Musical Theatre Awards, also known as the Jimmy Awards.

“The 2023 Jimmy Awards features 96 nominees from 48 regional awards programs making their debuts on a Broadway stage,” the school district said online.

“During this unforgettable talent showcase, a panel of judges will select two students to receive the coveted awards of Best Performance by an Actor and Best Performance by an Actress.”

Central Bucks High School West was among 21 schools from around the Philadelphia region whose productions were acknowledged by those overseeing the awards this year.

“Congratulations to Anna Shea and Jackson – and break a leg!”
