The top-line burger from DBG, created by two Lower Merion restaurateurs.

Lower Merion residents George Tsiouris and his sister, Vasiliki Tsiouris-Balis, have revamped their Sansom Street, Philadelphia, restaurant with a new name and restyled dishes. The former Drury Beer Garden is now DBG. And its overhauled menu offers burgers that range in price from $2.95 to $700.

That’s no typo. The top-priced hamburger is seven Ben Franklins.

Of course, it’s no Quarter-Pounder wrapped in yellow paper, either.

It’s topped with gold leaf.

And underneath that is a patty whose ingredients include:

  • Japanese A5 ribeye wagyu beef
  • Italian black truffles
  • Cognac flambéed lobster meat

No milkshake accompanies this exquisite dish. Beverage-wise, it’s paired with one ounce of the same cognac used to cook the lobster, poured from a bottle with a $5,000 price tag.

“Burgers are one of the most loved food items around the world,” said George. “We are excited to provide our guests some amazing, creative and tasty options with our new menu concept.”

“My brother and I had so much fun creating this menu,” said Vasiliki.

The remainder of the DBG burger menu features lamb, cheesesteak, vegan, and even a dessert variety.

Opening day is May 19, with food giveaways as an enticement.

There’s a very good chance the freebies will be from the menu’s lower-priced burger options.
