The building has been in use since at least 1851.

A historical society in a town just outside of Bucks County recently discussed the interesting history of one of the area’s local establishments.

The Lambertville Historical Society, headquartered at the Marshall House Museum at 60 Bridge Street in Lambertville, recently took to social media to discuss a local building full of local history.

45 North Union Street was originally known as Boozer’s Hall, established by J. Fenimore Boozer in 1851 and used as a public hall for fairs, festivals, and entertainment, along with being his home.

“Mr. Boozer was highly esteemed by the whole community and was a favorite with children, being known as the children’s friend, ‘Uncle Fen Boozer’ because of a tradition he started in 1860,” the historical society said online. “On Christmas morning, his door would open at 9:00 a.m., and children would file in under a banner that read ‘Merry Christmas – Obey Your Parents.'”

The building has been used as the offices of Gallicchio & Buchanan, Esqs. since 1979. Union Coffee sits in the adjoining building.
