Bucks County Township Ok’d for New, 900-Unit Self-Storage Center Off of Route 13
A planning commission in Bucks County is moving forward with plans for a massive storage center off of a major road. Damon C. Williams wrote about the new storage center for the Bucks County Courier Times.
At a recent meeting, official from Bristol Township confirmed plans to being a 900-unit storage center to the area. Owned and operated by Extra Space Storage, the multi-story complex would stand by Route 13.
Occupying 121,000 square feet, the unit will be the fifth Bucks County location for the national company. There are three centers in Bensalem and one in Doylestown.
“The traffic goes out onto Route 13,” said project engineer Dan Haas.
“It’s a right-in driveway and a right-out only driveway. We have performed a preliminary traffic assessment on this, and the amount of traffic generated from a self-storage facility of this size does not reach to a level where the township requires a full traffic study.”
