The new storage unit will allow the township to hold salt for the major company.

Supervisors from a Bucks County township recently announced updates for a new storage unit for salt.

Members of the board for Falls Township granted preliminary and final land development approval to NorthPoint to construct a 115,200-square-foot storage facility for Morton Salt at 10 Solar Drive in Morrisville.

The salt company’s existing space would be demolished to allow for a “more cohesive development,” according to NorthPoint attorney Mike Meginniss.

The meeting that saw the updates for the salt structure saw other various township matters discussed. In the same meeting, the Falls Township Board of Supervisors granted preliminary and final land development approval for Waste Management to construct two 20,000-square-foot renewable natural gas plants on a portion of the company’s 47-acre Fairless Landfill complex in Falls.

If successful, this could lead to the opening of an operational facility by 2024.
