Ashlynn Distillery, located in Morrisville, is one of several local spots offering food and drinks for the annual celebration.

Across the country, bars and distilleries are celebrating Cinco de Mayo, and several Bucks County establishments are serving up a good time.

Originating in Mexico, the annual celebration commemorates “the date of the Mexican army’s May 5, 1862 victory over France at the Battle of Puebla during the Franco-Mexican War,” according to History.com. “The day, which falls on Friday, May 5 in 2023, is also known as Battle of Puebla Day.”

As with dining and drinking establishments around Mexico, the Unites States, and beyond, Bucks County is replete with spots for those looking to celebrate the occasion.

Ashlynn Distillery, located at 32 West Bridge Street in Morrisville, is offering $5 margaritas and $4 shrimp or chicken tacos from 4 – 11 PM for the celebration.

“Join us for a special pop-up margarita menu to celebrate Cinco de Mayo!” the distillery said online.

John and Peter’s, located at 96 South Main Street in New Hope, is offering Corona and Corona Light bottles for $4.50, as well as $6 house margaritas, all day on May 5.

El Barrio Cantina & Tequila Bar, located at 1470 Buck Road in Holland, is hosting a Cinco de Mayo party all day on May 5. Offering a wide selection of food and drinks, it is a special occasion to celebrate a fun day.

“We have over 20 round tables for seating outside, so there is plenty of room,” the establishment said online.

These are just a few of the local establishments hosting festivities for the celebration. Make sure to check the social media pages of your favorite spots to see what they are up to on Cinco de Mayo.
