Jamison Nonprofit Hosts Candlelight Tribute for Victims of Crime in the Area

A Bucks County nonprofit recently held an event that honored victims of violence and crime around the country.
NOVA Bucks, located at 2370 York Road, Ste B1 in Jamison, recently held a Candlelight Tribute for Victims of Crime around the country.
Featuring small art pieces made by children around the area, the event was held in an attempt to bring the reality of violence in everyday life to the forefront.
“Thank you to the speakers for sharing their stories and to Jennifer Schorn from the Bucks County District Attorney’s Office for providing opening remarks,” the organization. said online.
Found in 1974 as Women Organized Against Rape (WOAR), the organization has worked with victims of rape and violence in the Bucks County area for almost five decades.
“Always on the cutting edge of service delivery, NOVA provides a continuum of programs to meet individual needs including but not limited to: a 24-7 victim helpline, SANE services in area hospitals, forensic interviews for children who have been sexually or physical abused, trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy provided in office, home or schools, legal advocacy and support through the criminal justice system.”
