The site will help local commuters find a ride.

An organization in Bucks County has launched an initiative to help those who are in need of necessary transportation.

TMA Bucks, headquartered at 7 Neshaminy Interplex Drive in Feasterville-Trevose, recently announced it has launched a Share-A-Ride website.

The site is a free, computerized service offered by the Delaware Valley Regional Planning Commission that can match commuters who live in Bucks County and work in southeastern Pennsylvania with others who want to carpool or vanpool.

“By sharing a ride or telecommuting, commuters can save money and reduce the stress of getting to and from work or wherever they need to go,” explained TMA Bucks executive director Stephen Noll.

“This not only gives people more options for getting around but also helps ease congestion and keeps the air cleaner too by taking some vehicles off the road.”

The site also incentivises commuters who sign up and record their sustainable trips on the Share-A-Ride trip calendar to earn points that can be redeemed for gift card drawing entries, restaurant coupons, retailer discounts, and tickets to shows and attractions. Users can even set up recurring trips to automatically record to a trip calendar.

The site also includes a trip planner to find rides for a daily commute, hybrid office, appointment, or even a special event. The trip planner will also show public transit, biking, and other options if available.
