Penn State Abington invites the public to attend its first TechCon and Innovation Challenge on Saturday, March 25, beginning at 8:30 a.m.

Tech thought leaders from industries including healthcare and finance will lead morning sessions on the digital transformation of communities, healthcare, and businesses. Further, its roster of speakers will explain ways businesses can more deeply connect with communities.

The speakers’ roster features experts from industry-leading tech firms in the area.

The keynote address, for example, is from Danilo Diaz. A Microsoft director in its cloud solution architecture. Diaz is also a former adjunct professor at Penn State Abington.

Other presenters are seasoned professionals from well-known firms such as Vanguard, Lockheed Martin, and Availity, a Jacksonville, Fla., tech advisor in healthcare.

The afternoon will feature an innovation challenge in which attendees will brainstorm to propose technology-based solutions for community issues. Participants will be organized into teams to formulate their proposals and pitch the resulting ideas to a panel of judges. Closing remarks and the awards ceremony will begin at 2:15 p.m.

The event costs $25 and includes breakfast and lunch.

Penn State students, faculty, and staff may attend at no charge, but they must register in advance.

Online registrations are at Cvent.

The TechCon and Innovation Challenge is presented by Penn State Abington Continuing Education.
