Bucks County-Based Rita’s Italian Ice Unveils New Flavor as Part of Upcoming Expansion

Rita's Italian Ice is set to sweeten the arrival of spring with its beloved tradition of giving away free water ice.

One of the most popular chains in Bucks County is planning an even further extension in and out of the area, with a new product to boot. Jenn Ladd wrote about the Bucks County chain for The Philadelphia Inquirer.

Rita’s Italian Ice & Frozen Custard, formerly known as Rita’s Water Ice, recently reopened their various shops for the season. In addition to the reopening, the company, currently based out of the Bensalem area, is planning to expand their operations across the region, beginning with. new locations.

In the meantime, the chain has announced a new Gummy Bear-flavored dessert item on their menu, as well as an upcoming frozen coffee line.

The popular chain was founded in 1984 by Philadelphia firefighter Bob Tumolo and named after his mother, Rita.

Rita’s Italian Ice has become a popular stop for Bucks County locals and visitors. Now with nearly 600 locations serving customers around the country, the chain is a household name in the area.
