Bucks County Conservation District Looking for Soil Expert for Important Farming Project

An organization in Bucks County, along with a national farming nonprofit, is currently looking for soil experts for an important project.

The Bucks County Conservation District is currently looking for a female Pennsylvania “soil health successful” farmer to feature in a soil health case study, which is being organized by the American Farmland Trust.

According to the Bucks county organization, candidates must be someone who:

  • Grows corn, soybeans, hay, and/or small grains
  • Has adopted practices such as reduced tillage, no-till, cover crops, nutrient management, or diversified crop rotation for soil health
  • Has implemented practice(s) for 4-15 years
  • Has economic success stories to attribute to their soil health practices with data to validate
  • Is willing to provide field operation data reflecting before and after adopting the soil health practice(s)

The position comes with a $1,000 stipend and an opportunity to learn more about the farming and food industries.
