A small airport in Bucks County is being praised by aviation fans and traditional travelers for offering a throwback to order travel methods. Staff writers for AVweb wrote about the local airport.

Van Sant Airport, located at 516 Cafferty Road in Erwinna, is one of the last “classic country airport” in the country. Offering flights on small planes for a few people, it harkens back to a time when this time of aviation was the mainstream form of long-distance transportation.

Named after John Van Sant, the airport sits in Pennsylvania and very close to the border of New Jersey. It has become a special place for those who love to learn bout aviation history and see a piece of it in action.

“For over 50 years this piece of aviation earth has had a character and charisma all its own,” owners of the airport said on its official website. “It is a land of history embedded in its name alone, along with all sorts of antiques about to back up its stories.”
